Tokyo Station is one of the most common starting points for a Disney day in Japan. Whether you’ve just arrived by Shinkansen or you’re traveling from central Tokyo, getting to Tokyo Disney Resort is easier than it might look.
In this guide, I’ll walk through the three main options: train, bus, or taxi. For each one, I’ll share the travel time, cost, and what to expect.
Overview: Tokyo Station to Tokyo Disney Resort

Tokyo Disney Resort (home to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea) is about 15 km from Tokyo Station.
Travel Time and Cost
| Option | Time | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Train (JR Keiyo Line) | About 25–35 min | ¥230 |
| Direct Bus | About 30–40 min | ¥730 |
| Taxi | About 30–40 min | ¥6,000–8,000 |
The train is the most popular option. It’s the cheapest and usually the fastest. The direct bus is comfortable and convenient, but runs only in the morning. A taxi is the easiest option of the three, though it costs considerably more.
By Train: JR Keiyo Line to Maihama Station
Taking the JR Keiyo Line from Tokyo Station to Maihama Station is the standard way to reach Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. The fare is ¥230, and the train ride itself takes about 15 minutes.
One thing to know before you go: the Keiyo Line platform is located deep inside Tokyo Station, far from the main concourses. Plan on an extra 10 minutes or so for the walk.
Finding the Keiyo Line Platform
There are two main approaches:
- From the Marunouchi side (outside the ticket gates)
- From the Yaesu side(inside the ticket gates, closer to the Shinkansen)

I’ll cover the Yaesu side route below. If you’ve arrived by Shinkansen, this side is closer and more convenient.
Head to Yaesu South Side
Walk toward the Yaesu South side inside the station. Soon you’ll see signs for the Keiyo Line.
Follow the Keiyo Line Signs
Follow the “Keiyo Line” signs through the underground passage. It’s about a 10-minute walk.
Go Down to B4 Level
Take the escalator or elevator down to the 4th basement floor (B4).
Keiyo Line Platform
You’ll arrive at the Keiyo Line platforms (usually Track 3 or 4).
If you have kids or heavy luggage, give yourself some extra time.
From Tokyo Station to Maihama Station
On the platform, board any train bound for Maihama, Soga, or Chiba. You’ll arrive at Maihama Station in about 15 minutes, with no transfers needed.
Trains to Maihama leave every few minutes from the Keiyo Line platforms, so you don’t need to worry about checking the schedule.

→ Tokyo Station Guide
From Maihama Station to Each Park
Tokyo Disneyland is right next to the station. From the exit, it’s about a 5-minute walk.
Tokyo DisneySea requires one more step. From Maihama Station, take the Disney Resort Line monorail. Ride one stop to Resort Gateway Station, then continue one more stop to Tokyo DisneySea Station. The journey takes about 10 minutes and costs ¥260.

By Bus: Direct from Tokyo Station
A direct bus runs from Tokyo Station to Tokyo Disney Resort, with stops at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. There’s no need to change trains or navigate the Keiyo Line platform. You just board and stay seated until you arrive.
That said, the bus runs only in the morning and only a few times a day, so timing matters.
Schedule and Fare:
| Weekdays | 5 buses | between 8:00–10:00 |
| Weekends & holidays | 3 buses | between 8:00–9:00 |
For the return, note that buses back to Tokyo Station are only available in the evening and in limited numbers.

Where to Board the bus at Tokyo Station
Buses to Tokyo Disney Resort leave from the Yaesu South Exit Bus Terminal at Tokyo Station.
The terminal is just outside the Yaesu South Exit, right in front of the station.
The buses depart from JR Highway Bus Stop #5.

The bus for Tokyo Disney Resort cannot be reserved in advance. Boarding is first-come, first-served. If the bus is full, you’ll need to wait for the next one.
Travel Time and Fare
The ride takes about 30–40 minutes, depending on road traffic. The fare is ¥730 (adult).
Unlike the train, where you may have to stand, on the bus you’ll have a seat and can relax until you arrive.
How to pay:
- Cash: Buy your ticket in advance from the ticket machine.
- IC card: Tap your card when boarding the bus.
By Taxi
Taking a taxi is the most convenient and comfortable option, though it costs more than train or bus.
With no transfers and door-to-door service, it’s especially helpful for families with small children or travelers carrying large luggage.
The ride takes about 30–40 minutes. The fare is usually ¥6,000–8,000, depending on traffic and time of day.
Taxi Stands at Tokyo Station
There are taxi stands at both the Yaesu Exit and the Marunouchi Exit of Tokyo Station.
Most travelers use the Yaesu side, as it’s directly connected to the Shinkansen area and has more taxis available.
You can also use taxi apps to call a car without waiting at the stand.
The GO app is the easiest way to call a taxi in Tokyo. It’s simple to use and very common, so even first-time visitors can use it with confidence.
